The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3

Harris is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to work at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) located in Huntsville, AL, which is our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. The Industrial Engineering team members will develop equipment and process layouts to optimize the overall efficiency of the process while maximizing labor and floor space utilization. The Industrial Engineering team is also responsible for the maintenance of the facilities layout, continuous improvement and the transition of programs from AMFN to AMFS.

This is a dynamic team that requires motivated, self‑starting individuals with hands‑on experience. They must be able to follow company procedures and requirements for the manufacture of advanced, man‑rated, and high value aerospace hardware.

• Develop and implement equipment and/or process layouts utilizing lean principles to optimize the overall efficiency of the process.
• Evaluate the process flows and layouts of existing product lines with emphasis on the maximization of labor and floor space utilization.
• Support the relocation of products between AMFS and AMFN.
• Work with facilities maintenance to reduce equipment downtime, improve equipment utilization, and coordinate project implementation along with overall site maintenance and support.
• Provide shop floor support of advanced composite manufacturing processes.
• Support all of the related support groups to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and process control. Maintain facilities layout.
• Special Projects as assigned.
• Less than 5% travel maybe required to other L3
  
  Harris manufacturing sites.
• Occasional off‑shift and weekend work required to support manufacturing schedules.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Industrial Engineering experience;
  Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related Industrial Engineering experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related Industrial Engineering experience.
• 2+ years Industrial Engineering
  
  Experience:
  • Experience with process, equipment and facilities layouts.
  • Experience with equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma principles.

• CAD, Poka Yoke and Safety experience is desired.
