Global Systems Engineer – Meta

Meta is seeking a forward‑thinking, experienced Data Center Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Site Operations team. The role focuses on maximizing server fleet uptime and utilization, using data to identify failure conditions and root causes, and automating diagnostic tooling.

• Deliver maximum server fleet uptime and utilization by leveraging data to understand hardware failure conditions and root causes.
• Identify trends and systemic issues in the fleet and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to interpret business and operational needs.
• Build cross‑functional relationships and influence policies and procedures to improve global data center operations.
• Mentor team members to evaluate and improve tools and processes.
• Write and review code, develop documentation, and debug complex problems in large systems.
• Participate in defining diagnostic tooling requirements with cross‑functional teams.
• Execute validation and verification activities for new product integrations, including system‑level testing.
• Collaborate with tooling teams to determine root causes and provide input into the development process.
• Travel up to 25% as required.

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems infrastructure operations or a related field.
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of application servers, load balancers, databases, storage, and messaging systems.
• Proficiency in higher‑level programming languages (Python, PHP, C++, Java, or similar).
• Experience learning software, frameworks, and APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Linux systems.

Base compensation ranges from $144,000 to $204,000 per year, with additional bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Learn more about Meta’s benefits.
