Job Description

The primary role of the NDE Technician is to provide Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) support for manufacturing processes such as welding and machining. Additionally, the technician will assist in the development of NDT procedures and techniques, administer training, and aid in the certification of NDT personnel.

Responsibilities

+ Provide NDT support for manufacturing processes including welding and machining.

+ Assist Level III personnel in developing NDT procedures and techniques.

+ Administer training and certification for NDT personnel.

+ Perform radiographic, ultrasonic, visual, and penetrant testing.

+ Document inspection results and maintain strong documentation skills.

+ Inspect structural components with a focus on welding inspection.

+ Collaborate with team members and government customers on-site.

Essential Skills

+ ASNT Certification in Ultrasonics (UT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Visual Testing (VT).

+ Experience in AS9100, NADCAP, and NQA-1 Quality Systems.

+ 5-10 years of experience as an NDE Technician.

+

Experience with radiographic testing (RT Level
2).

+ Proficiency in Excel or similar software such as Smart Sheet.

+ Strong documentation and communication skills.

+ Able to provide proof of RT Level 2 Certification.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ BS Degree is preferred.

+ Experience inspecting structures, not just piping.

+ Certification in Electromagnetic (ET) and Leak Testing (MSLT) NDT methods is preferred.

+ State card in radiography, excluding isotopes.

+ Knowledge or certification in additional NDT methods such as RT.

Work Environment

This position is located on-site in Huntsville, AL. Work hours are from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with lunch and two breaks provided. The role includes supporting DOE missile and glovebox projects, with UT used for glove boxes and RT for missiles. The team is working towards 10 hours of overtime per week, and a government customer is on-site daily to observe testing processes.

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
