Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a PBACM Test
- Mechanical Technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to support the development, integration and testing of PBACM hardware. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of vibration test equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Support early integration/checkout activities for the PBACM vibration lab. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel Program.
Final grade level offered will be based on suitable applicant experience.
Job Description:
PBACM Test
- Mechanical Test Conductor/Maintenance Technician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to support the development, integration and testing of a missile system. To help operate and support our the Huntsville Integration and Test Facility, and to support the qualification and acceptance testing of the PBACM element during its dynamic testing.
- Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
- Technical knowledge of design, construction, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of dynamics test labs / equipment used for vibration, acoustic, shock, modal, and tap testing. Includes:
- UD Electrodynamics shakers
- UD solid-state amplifiers
- Hydraulic bearing systems:
High Pressure Pumps, hoses, etc… - Support Dynamics Test Facility upgrades / reconfigurations / repairs for systems including (but not limited to):
- Electrical and cooling lines for shakers
- Internal components / modules / heat exchangers
- Hydraulic Team bearings and power supplies
- Pneumatic bearings and facility infrastructure
- Program and maintain a maintenance schedule for all test equipment
- Support calibration and proof load activities for test equipment, as needed
- Able to plan and arrange cost estimates / ROMs for purchasing hardware including manpower hours related to facility hardware repairs / upgrades / installations.
- Recommend hardware options and defined modifications to the facility. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, processes, or new testing requirements.
- Request quotes from vendors for new hardware
- Able to update lab operating procedures
- Must have trouble shooting skills
- Able to plan daily test / task operations
- Program and run vibration test computers
- Install, calibrate, and remove accelerometers
