Senior ETL Migration Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior ETL Migration Engineer to support a federal modernization program focused on migrating large-scale legacy data environments into secure cloud platforms. This position is on-site in Huntsville, AL
. The Senior ETL Migration Engineer will lead the design, execution, optimization, and validation of enterprise-scale ETL pipelines supporting mission-critical data migration operations. Join a high-impact team driving the successful modernization of critical national security systems through scalable, secure, and reliable data migration solutions.

Responsibilities for the Senior ETL Migration Engineer include:
  • Lead the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines supporting petabyte-scale data migration initiatives.
  • Develop extraction, transformation, and ingestion processes for structured and unstructured data from legacy systems into cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, resolve data anomalies, conduct root cause analysis, and improve overall migration performance and reliability.
  • Perform data quality assessments, validation testing, governance reviews, and completeness checks to ensure migration accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Dev Sec Ops  teams, DBAs, QA/Test Engineers, and Product Owners to support migration planning, integration, and operational readiness.
Required Qualifications for the Senior ETL Migration Engineer include:
  • 8+ years of experience in ETL development, data engineering, enterprise-scale data migration, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools, automation frameworks, scripting languages, and high-volume data processing pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience supporting legacy system extraction, cloud-based data ingestion, data transformation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Compensation for the Senior ETL Migration Engineer include:

Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 depending on experience

Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as required by law
