About EO Solutions
EO Solutions is a rapidly growing aerospace and defense company focused on advancing capabilities in Space Domain Awareness and Directed Energy Systems. Our teams work across Hawaii, Nevada, Alabama, and remote locations to solve critical national security challenges with innovative, mission-focused technologies.
Position Overview
EO Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to lead the architecture development, design, integration, and testing of advanced opto-mechanical hardware for High Energy Laser (HEL) weapon systems and related defense applications. This position will play a critical role in developing precision optical and mechanical assemblies that support beam stability, beam shaping, beam control, target acquisition, tracking, stabilization, and thermal management functions within HEL systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in opto-mechanical design, optical alignment, precision mechanical systems, and environmental integration for complex, robust, and ruggedized defense applications and possess the technical leadership skills necessary to mentor junior engineers. The successful candidate will lead technical development efforts from concept through prototype, integration, test, and deployment while collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture development and design of complex opto-mechanical systems for High Energy Laser weapon systems
- Design, analyze, integrate, and test precision optical and mechanical assemblies for aerospace and defense applications
- Develop opto-mechanical solutions supporting spectral beam combiners, beam directors, beam control systems, tracking systems, and optical payloads
- Perform structural, thermal, vibration, and alignment analysis for precision optical hardware
- Design and develop mounts, mechanisms, optical benches, stabilization systems, and precision alignment features
- Support integration of lasers, optics, sensors, gimbals, and electro-optical subsystems
- Develop system-level packaging solutions optimized for size, weight, power, and thermal constraints
- Lead tolerance analysis, optical alignment strategies, and environmental robustness assessments
- Support optical testing, alignment, calibration, and performance characterization activities
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering drawings, technical data packages, and interface documentation
- Collaborate closely with optical, electrical, software, controls, and systems engineering teams
- Support prototype fabrication, system integration, troubleshooting, and qualification testing
- Participate in design reviews, trade studies, and technical architecture discussions
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across opto-mechanical development efforts
- Support proposal development and strategic technology initiatives related to Directed Energy Systems
