Senior Electrical Engineer
Huntsville, Alabama
Travel:
Up to 25% as needed
Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic products from initial proposals through production release. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys circuit board design, system-level problem solving, testing, and working with teams to bring products into production.
What youll do
- Design electrical subsystems and support electronic product development from concept through production.
- Create schematics, support PCB layout, and prepare specifications, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
- Review customer requirements and participate in design reviews.
- Develop validation plans, analyze test results, and document whether designs meet performance requirements.
- Investigate failures and product issues, determine root causes, and communicate findings in clear written reports.
- Support preproduction builds, production transfers, engineering changes, and customer technical issues.
- Work with engineering teams to address system integration and EMI/EMC considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with substantial relevant experience, or a masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 7 years of electrical engineering experience, including circuit board design.
- Ability to create and interpret schematics and wiring drawings.
- Experience using laboratory equipment to troubleshoot electronic assemblies and perform failure analysis.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings.
- System integration experience and the ability to work across engineering disciplines.
- Experience with PCB layout, EMI/EMC testing, Altium Designer, automotive electronics, or wireless charging is a plus.
