Overview
To provide clinical assessments on potential patients of all ages and to provide accurate assessment data to the provider to determine if inpatient psychiatric care is needed. To provide alternatives and appropriate referrals for patients who are not in need of psychiatric inpatient admission. Functions as a liaison between the patient and the on‑call psychiatrist or other personnel as appropriate. Keeps clear and accurate documentation and completes the admission process when necessary.
Possesses a strong knowledge and ability to document using appropriate psychiatric terminology.
Education:
BSN or MSN level degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Community Health, and/or two years of work experience in a psychiatric related setting.
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse graduate from Accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama licensure.
Experience:
Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred and/or two years of work experience in a psychiatric related setting.
