Processing Technician -Lab- PRN- 1st Shift

Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions and specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred:
  Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology.

MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (e.g. ASCP or AMT) preferred.

Previous work experience strongly preferred.

Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑service oriented environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Maintain absolute confidentiality in handling patient information.
• Able to work in a high‑stress environment with little or no downtime.
• Work in a team setting and maintain absolute confidentiality.
• Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process.
• Position may require flexibility related to shift end time, which may vary with workload.
