Employment Application for IT Specialist (Huntsville)
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Provide technical assistance, training, and support to clients by answering questions or resolving issues in person, via telephone, or by remote access.
- Aid in the planning, designing, implementation, and maintenance of technology assets as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Capture client needs and requirements to design, test, document and deploy technology that fulfills client goals while meeting all design requirements, regulations, budget constraints, and end‑user expectations.
- Plan and coordinate projects including assuring project feasibility, etc.
- Deploy, maintain, and repair technology assets for clients.
- Perform routine maintenance on technology assets.
- Monitor and validate customer disaster recovery assets and systems.
- Monitor and protect customer assets from unauthorized access or use.
- Maintain good communication and respond to client issues as quickly as possible.
- Create and maintain complete documentation for client technology assets and systems.
- Provide clients training and usability information for technology assets.
- Assist the sales personnel with recommendations on technology and related accessories.
- Meet with leadership, customers, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
- Stay abreast of advances in technology.
- All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds to waist level with assistance.
- Must have ability to move through home, office, and industrial environments regularly.
- Must have ability to kneel, crawl and crouch on surfaces and in tight spaces.
- Must have ability to climb ladders of various heights.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet above ground level.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Three to five years recent IT experience. Prior experience working for a service provider is a plus.
- Strong documentation skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision.
- Be of good moral character.
- Effectively utilizes tools to resolve issues and escalates appropriately.
- Network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience are a must.
- Hands on experience with all forms of common networking, workstation and server virtualization solutions, cybersecurity, backup systems and line of business applications.
- Appropriate vendor certifications are a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and to discern importance of priorities.
- Ability to identify business trends and recommend technology to fulfill client needs.
- Must have ability to work various and unconventional hours according to company demands.
- Must be available to contact after‑hours when needed.
