Cloud Architect

* Position is based in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL*

* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance*

The Cloud Architect will specialize in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud environments—environments that combine on-premises infrastructure (private cloud or traditional data centers) with public cloud platforms.

• Provide engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation to include designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that support mission system and multiple customers.
• Design scalable and secure cloud solutions that align with DoD requirements.
• Ensure computing environments meet existing security requirements.
• Work matrixed with developers, administrators, and network engineers to optimize workflows.
• Deploy and manage virtual networks, computing resources, and cloud-based storage.
• Implement automation and optimization tools in a multi-cloud environment utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with data solutions.
• Advise leadership and customers on cloud strategies, tools, and best practices.
• Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.

• 7 years of directly related experience in technical architecture and design in complex IT environments.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related degree.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, scalability).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Solutions Architect.
• CISSP or CASP+.
• Experience with Secure Cloud Computing Architecture.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Agile development experience and leadership with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with virtualization tools such as VMWare, Open Shift.

• Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current IAT Level II Certification.

• Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
