Position: IT System Administrator Lvl 3
Overview

Provide 7x24x365 support to the organization.

Organize and plan deliverables to insure that all data, image, and video network systems are maintained at appropriate service levels. Act as an escalation point for Level 1 and 2 System Administrators. Provides network expertise and guidance in the areas of research, evaluation, selection, development, implementation, and support. Responsible for documentation of physical and logical layouts, standards in architecture, and standards for builds of file servers, application servers, and database servers across the enterprise.

Responsible for training and mentoring support staff in current technologies being implemented across the enterprise. Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting of enterprise servers. Responsible for working with and leading disaster recovery and business continuity testing and design.

Manage, organize, and prioritize project and work load. Maintain, upgrade and manage server operating systems, software, hardware and servers. Install and configure software and hardware. Manage network servers and technology tools. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements. Troubleshoot issues and outages. Ensure security through access controls, and backups. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies, maintain internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.

Mentor junior staff members and train them in work practices and tools.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science or related field. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree and/or certifications

MCSE, VCA/VCP, or VCAP preferred

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in a Microsoft, Linux multi-server networking environment
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience installing and supporting VMware
  • Experience working with multiple domains with mission critical systems
  • Experience working in a large multi-facility team environment
  • Extensive in the documentation of network topology and diagramming, installation guidelines and troubleshooting documentation
  • Experience in the set up and configuration of file servers, clustering devices, operating systems and applications.
  • Significant experience in installation, maintenance and support of high availability systems
  • Experience working in and a thorough understanding of SAN environments
  • Extensive experiencing working with and maintaining enterprise backup solutions
  • Experience in the design and workings of disaster recovery-business continuity strategie

    Significant experiencing using and creating automations scripts for any number of system related activities, upgrades, or changes to individual or enterprise wide systems and computers
  • Extensive knowledge and experience as a System Administrator,Server administrator or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in advanced network system design and access technologies.
  • Ability to analyze, coordinate, and manage multiple technologies and concepts effectively
  • Outstanding organizational, technical and managerial skills to creatively formulate, interpret, and integrate a large number of complex issues and problems
  • Experienced in project management and establishing protocols for system development
