The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a vital component of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2
BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It acts as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2
BMC is a critical part of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system’s current and future capabilities. This position is for an architecture model developer working on the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) System. The selected candidate will be responsible for converting paper architecture products into digital models, delivering model artifacts, and collaborating with both internal C2
BMC and external MDA stakeholders within an MBSE modeling environment to ensure accurate system representations and behavior. A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible Systems Engineering roles in the development, integration, and support of large-scale software‑intensive systems.
Will support the development of architecture models, manage model configuration, and serve as a key contact for integration with other modeling teams and environments outside of C2
BMC (e.g., models provided or developed by other missile defense partner organizations). An experienced modeler will mentor junior systems engineering team members to enhance their skills within the department. Work will be directed by the Digital Engineering Team (DET) Lead and DET Architecture Model Lead. Coordinating with other technical leads, product owners, C2
BMC management, and government customers to ensure high‑quality products are delivered on time and within resource limits. Reviewing technical content and serving as a technical liaison with MDA counterparts as necessary. Will be actively participating in Agile development activities, such as iteration planning and status updates. Must have at least 4 years of experience building digital architecture models. Must have experience connecting architecture models with DOORS‑managed requirements.
Proven experience in developing and adjusting all viewpoints within the DoDAF 2.0 modeling framework.
