Visual Soft, Inc is seeking qualified candidates to work on our efforts with a Prime for their end customer, a federal agency in Huntsville, AL.
Location:
Huntsville, Alabama (100% Onsite)
Clearance Required:
Active Top Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience:
Minimum 8+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration and cloud operations experience
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in classified and unclassified environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, Cloud Watch, IAM, RDS, EFS).
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or Cloud Formation.
- Monitor system performance, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement performance tuning.
- Patch and harden Linux systems to meet DISA STIG and RMF compliance requirements.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in accordance with DoD standards.
- Support and integrate CI/CD pipelines and Dev Sec Ops practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous monitoring and incident response.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum sprints, providing infrastructure support to development and QA teams.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS (VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, AWS Code Pipeline).
- Working knowledge of security hardening (STIGs, CIS benchmarks) and RMF controls.
- Excellent problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
- Experience with AWS Gov Cloud or classified AWS regions.
- AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator or Solutions Architect.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- Security+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
Our standard benefits include 3 weeks of Paid time off (PTO that includes sick leave). Any unused PTO will be issued as a check at the end of an employee's anniversary with us. We also provide 2 floating and 8 public holidays. Floating and holidays expire at the end of every year of service of an employee. In addition, the company will cover 50% of health and dental insurances only for all full‑time employees;
however, dependents can be added at extra cost. Employee's health and dental coverage becomes effective after 30 days or the first of the month after an employee completes initial 30 working days; we cover 50% for the employee's health and dental insurances. An employee has to finish all their paperwork for health and dental in the first 30 days of employment with us.
We provide STD, LTD and a one‑time salary equivalent of life insurance at no cost to all full‑time employees. All full‑time employees or W‑2 employees with no benefits will be eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) program after 90 days of employment with a company match of 4%, immediate vesting. In addition, all W‑2 employees are eligible to be part of the company's profit sharing;
no employee contributions required.
