Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Huntsville Engine Plant as we expand our manufacturing footprint to include a second engine line. In this key role, you will help lead the launch and ongoing optimization of a highly flexible assembly line designed for efficiency, quality, and scalability. The line leverages advanced error-proofing systems and in-process quality audit stations to ensure each product is built right the first time, every time.

The Huntsville facility runs a 4x10 production schedule (Mon‑Thurs, 6:30AM - 5:00PM). This role will support 2nd shift production (7:30pm – 6:00AM) and may need to cover production recovery times including Fridays and weekends as needed.
- Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in engine component machining layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installation and then transition to day to day production activities to help meet customer product demand
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Provide Technical Expertise to quality department
- React to machinery uptime issues and drive towards permanent, cost effective and long term solutions
- Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
- Standardize manufacturing processes by benchmarking other facilities’ manufacturing processes
- Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
- Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives
- Follow up on the implementation of engineering changes and variations from design specifications as well as new program developments
- Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
- Initiate, develop and pursue capital appropriation projects
- Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of product manufacturing experience
- Master's degree and no experience
- At least 3 years of product manufacturing experience
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. - Experience in Capital Equipment Purchasing
- Experience using PFMEA to identify improvement points
- Heavy Assembly Line experience
- Proficient in computer usage including MS Office.
- Must have thorough mechanical understanding of machines, tools, vehicles, and their design
- Able to work well in energetic manufacturing environment with positive attitude, ethics and International Values
- Demonstrate advanced reasoning skills, problem sensitivity, and data analysis
- Advanced mathematical skills; be able to use engineering judgment and critical thinking
- Demonstrate ability to be self-directed
