Position OverviewFull‑time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health

Location:
Huntsville, AL
.
Hours:
Monday‑Thursday, 9pm‑5:30am;
Friday, 9pm‑6:30am.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manage required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
- Evaluate, treat, and prioritize patient care within the scope of practice
- Deliver evidence‑based care to injured workers, accelerate return to work, and coordinate case management with the TPA and client
- Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers
- Perform and document medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
- Administer medications and emergency care within the legal scope of practice
- Maintain medical equipment, ensure a clean and safe environment, and follow infection control procedures
- Maintain patient health records to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date records
- Educate patients on health promotion and participate in follow‑up care
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
- Assist with accident investigations, return‑to‑work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Certificate from an accredited nursing school or Associate degree (A.S.) is required;
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) from a four‑year college or university is preferred - Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state of practice required
- Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN‑S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
- Current certification with hands‑on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services - At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency department, or other ambulatory care clinic
- Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return‑to‑work exams
