Reporting directly to the VP of Quality, the Quality Engineer is a crucial member of a manufacturing team responsible for ensuring products meet industry standards, customer expectations, and legal requirements. They work to optimize the quality of production processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. Their responsibilities include designing and implementing quality control systems, developing and conducting tests, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborating with teams to implement corrective actions when needed.

Quality Engineers also conduct audits of manufacturing processes and materials to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

• Supports all Quality Management data, reports, analysis, etc. as directed by the VP/Director of Quality.
• Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
• Develops and implements quality control plans and procedures.
• Devises / implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; performs statistical analysis to assess the cost and determine responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Performs assessments / audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and AS9100 / AS9110.
• Attends program corrective action meetings, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution, and ensures responsible parties meet required standards through internal audits.
• Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
• Coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials; arranges for delivery, assembly or distribution of components and supplies to meet production schedules.
• Performs mechanical/electrical drawing interpretation and problem resolution.
• Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and cross‑functional process development.
• Supports planning, review, approval, and application of First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Professionally represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
• Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) to support organizational needs.
• Provides technical expertise to employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
• Educates and trains employees on quality standards and procedures.
• Other duties as directed by quality leadership.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a related technical field (engineering, quality, or manufacturing).
• Preferred: SQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and/or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
• Preferred:
  Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt).

• Minimum of two years’ experience directly related to the job function is preferred.
• AS9100 Auditor experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
