FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors will earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. While experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines is crucial. FAR Inspections has been operating for over nine years.
Responsibilities- Most inspections are exterior only and typically take 5–6 minutes.
- Complete the inspection within four days of assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take nine or more photographs of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in a mobile application.
- Be prepared to spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
- Computer with an internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good fuel mileage is a plus, as you will pay for your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 (contract) position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Although paid per inspection, you can expect earnings equivalent to $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county—urban or rural—you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, while higher volume counties have lower rates.
Work is consistent month‑to‑month, with opportunities to earn more as you become established, increase availability, or cover larger territories.
No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
