Job Description

Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Utilities & Pipe Crew – Pipelayer in the Huntsville, AL / North Alabama operations area, reporting to the General Manager of Construction & Superintendent. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation across existing operations and through growth.
Job Details- Wages start at $23.00/hr (starting wage based on experience)
- Full‑time, Permanent
- Day Shift
- Weekend work may be required
- Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits
- Lay storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, and water mains
- Use hand tools as needed
- Assist with setting grade and driving grade stakes
- Use pipe laser/level
- Minimum 1 year of experience in grading operations/utilities & pipe preferred
- Dedicated to working safely at all times
- Experience with GPS control preferred
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
- Team player
- Valid driver’s license
- Distinguish and understand signals
- Read and understand grade stakes
- Use both hands and feet at the same time
- Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection
- Can hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment
- Can use mechanic’s hand tools and tape measure
- Can crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment
- Can lift and carry objects and materials up to 100 pounds
- Good vision, both close‑up and long‑distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment
- Has reliable transportation to commute
- Self‑motivated, capable of performing duties independently
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Can work outside in all weather and tolerate loud noises
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required
- Can provide valid documentation for the I‑9 Immigration requirement
- Must be drug‑free, pass a pre‑employment drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
