Equipment Maintenance Technician
We're looking for a hands-on Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep our highly automated, state-of-the-art glass production equipment running safely and efficiently. You'll be the person the line counts on — diagnosing issues fast, performing preventive maintenance that stops breakdowns before they start, and keeping production moving in a facility that supports the growing solar industry.
Shift: 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule — Day (6:00 AM–6:00 PM) or Night (6:00 PM–6:00 AM) Training:
Paid training period, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM for approximately 4 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production equipment: tempering furnace/laminators, automated cutting systems, automated insulating equipment, and spacer forming/assembly equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and assembly equipment to maximize uptime and equipment lifespan
- Respond promptly to unplanned downtime and breakdown calls during shift
- Diagnose faults across mechanical, pneumatic, industrial electrical, and controls systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA and plant safety standards, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Document all work orders accurately in CMMS and maintain detailed maintenance records
- Initiate purchase requisitions promptly to keep critical spare parts stocked
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Hands-on equipment maintenance experience (mechanical and/or electrical) in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of pneumatics, industrial electrical systems, controls (PLC/HMI exposure a plus), and mechanical processes
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and multimeters
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with CMMS or similar maintenance tracking systems preferred
Qualifications
- Associate degree or vocational certificate in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related trade preferred — equivalent hands-on experience or military maintenance background welcomed
- Ability to work the rotating 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule, including weekends per rotation
Work Environment
- Climate-varied manufacturing floor; standing, walking, lifting, and working around automated equipment throughout shift, with reasonable accommodations available
