Senior Software Engineer (GMD Weapon System)

Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Off-Post, Not at Redstone Arsenal

9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)

Senior Software Engineer for the GMD Weapon System (GWS) team on the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) system
. You will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.

• Design, develop, test, debug, and document embedded and object-oriented C++ software
• Lead development and implementation of new and updated features based on evolving customer requirements
• Work in a cross-functional Agile Scrum team, collaborating with systems and software engineers
• Ensure compliance with software standards and secure development practices
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements definition, integration, and deployment
• Apply systems thinking to develop scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Active Secret Clearance required
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and proven with experience required

• Experience developing embedded and object-oriented software in C++
• CMake for build automation
• GTest for unit testing
• Experience developing software in a Linux (preferably RHEL) environment

• Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
• Degree in Software Engineering or related field
• Missile Defense domain knowledge
• Knowledge of SysUML
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket) and Agile software development practices
• CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570 Compliant)
