Leidos is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join a multi‑disciplinary team within a matrixed organization to create unique solutions for complex problems, specifically regarding missile defense systems. The role involves supporting the software lifecycle of complex systems in a Linux environment, using C++/Python under an Agile Scrum framework with Dev Sec Ops  practices.

• Developing software for use in a Linux environment
• Developing software in an Agile Scrum environment using Jira and Gitlab
• Collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams to implement desired software functionality
• Utilizing software best practices such as peer review and unit testing
• Debugging and troubleshooting software in an HWIL setting

• A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET‑accredited university with 12+ years of experience, or an MS with 10+ years of experience
• Strong competency in C/C++ and Python
• Experience with software engineering throughout the software lifecycle
• Experience with software best practices such as peer reviews, automated testing, and document generation
• Experience collaborating with other functional groups to create a software product
• Experience working within an Agile environment (or equivalent)
• Experience using tools such as Jira and Gitlab (or equivalent)
• Experience developing within Qt IDE (or equivalent)
• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• Familiarity troubleshooting/testing software in an HWIL environment
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be eligible to obtain and maintain) a Secret Clearance or Final Secret Clearance

• Experience with Buildroot and VMWare
• Experience using Wireshark and developing software that sends communications over a network (UDP/TCP)
• Supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and methods
• Residence of the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
