Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Developer to join our team in building highly secure, scalable, and mission-critical API services for our Federal Government clients. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining the core backend infrastructure that powers data and machine learning applications.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Senior Backend Developer, you will:

• API & Microservice Development:
Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance APIs and microservices. You will specialize in creating structured interfaces using REST and potentially Graph

QL, integrating with diverse data sources and services.

• Secure Cloud Implementation:
Implement and manage scalable backend components using AWS Gov Cloud services, ensuring secure deployment and operation within a compliance-driven environment.

• Asynchronous & Event-Driven Programming:
Apply expertise in asynchronous programming patterns to manage data streams and complex workflows, ensuring responsiveness and reliability.

• AI/ML Integration:
Build the services necessary to integrate cutting-edge machine learning capabilities, including consuming ML inference services, managing retrieval pipelines, and integrating with document-analysis systems.

• Security & Compliance:
Apply secure coding principles and implement solutions that meet rigorous federal auditability requirements and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, RMF, CJIS).

• Technical Leadership:
Contribute to architectural decisions, perform code reviews, and mentor junior developers to maintain high standards of quality and performance.

Required Qualifications & Expertise

•

Experience:

Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.

• API Focus:
At least 4+ years of direct experience architecting and building public or internal APIs and microservices.

• Programming Mastery:
Proficiency in at least one:
Python, Node.js, or Java.

• Architecture:
Strong command of modern architectural patterns, including REST, Graph

QL, and asynchronous programming.

• AWS Gov Cloud:
Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions leveraging key AWS Gov Cloud services (e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS/SNS).

• ML Integration:
Proven experience integrating backend services with advanced systems, such as ML inference services, complex data retrieval pipelines (e.g., RAG), or document processing engines.

• Compliance:
Demonstrated knowledge of secure coding principles, auditability requirements, and Federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, RMF, CJIS). Desired Qualifications

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with No

SQL and distributed database technologies.

• Active Security Clearance (Secret, TS, or TS/SCI).
