Software Engineer – BM/SRM (25-584) - R

Based in Huntsville, AL, this role supports the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2

BMC) program within the Missile Defense System. The position requires full‑time on‑site work with no relocation assistance or remote options.

The Software Engineer will develop Java software for the Regional Applications team, supporting Battle Management Sensor Resource Management.

• Develop software using Java.
• Provide updates to multiple systems and disciplines, maintaining awareness of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas.
• Perform analysis and provide technical support for systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
• Apply understanding of search/sort algorithms and data structures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field preferred with 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years, or 6 years of experience.
• Current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher.
• Current, active in‑scope DoD‑issued Secret security clearance.
• Software engineering and development experience in Java (additional experience with C++ preferred).
• Knowledge of coding standards and configuration management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a rapid‑paced, team environment.

• Experience developing enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Java core classes and toolkits.
• Knowledge of server‑side and database development, and computer system administration.

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 – $. Salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.

Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and additional benefits. Application period is approximately 20 days from posting date.
