City of Huntsville’s Parks and Recreation department seeks a qualified applicant to fill the Assistant Center Supervisor position. This is specialized work in organizing, supervising, leading and instructing recreation and sporting activities at a community center, sports facility or athletic complex. Work also involves planning, scheduling and coordinating special events, league play and tournaments at the City’s athletic facilities and sports complexes, as well as setting up equipment and facilities for sports, recreation and special events.
Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel, and the role requires tact and skill in dealing with patrons, instructing participants and maintaining order and discipline.
- High school diploma from an accredited school or GED certificate, plus a two‑year minimum of experience in organizing and conducting recreation and/or social programs in a neighborhood services position.
- College degree desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
