CDL, Truck Driver
North Alabama drivers: regional dry van runs along the eastern states, a paycheck guaranteed while you get started, and a mentor beside you from day one.
Never driven professionally? This fleet hires drivers right out of CDL school.
Pay- $1,200 to $1,800 average weekly gross
- $650 a week while you train
- $1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo
- $0.55 per mile to start, up a cent every year to $0.65
- $15 stop pay
- 2,000 to 2,500 miles a week
Loads move up and down the eastern seaboard and don’t go far west. Drop and hook, preloads, plus some live loads and unloads. You are home every two weeks
, and your truck is assigned to you.
- “Who teaches me?” A mentor rides with you for 4 to 6 weeks and coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling.
- “Will my pay crash after training?” No. For 3 months solo it stays at $1,000 a week or more.
- “Does my CDL school count?” If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Orientation takes 2 days at most, with the hotel paid, your bus ticket reimbursed, and $300 once you are hired. After mentor training you get your own truck, about 1.5 years old on average.
