Position OverviewStudent must have completed one full year of college and maintain a minimum SHSU GPA of 2.8 or higher. Previous relevant job experience is preferred and strong communication and people skills are required.
Student will maintain the front desk, greet visitors, perform clerical tasks (filing, copying, basic Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, etc.), answer the main telephone, transfer calls, take accurate messages, maintain an appointment calendar when required, assist with documents, mail, email, special projects, collect and analyze data.
Other Requirements- Professional, appropriate dress, punctual, reliable, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Greet walk-in visitors and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, faculty and staff.
- Be able to answer questions about college programs and make referrals to departments as necessary.
- Organized and available to work 15 hours or more per week.
