Nature & Purpose of Position

The Student Operations Assistant supports hotel management by assisting with a wide range of administrative and operational functions across the property, with an initial focus on Back Office operations. This role requires regular communication with management and collaboration across departments to ensure smooth day-to-day hotel operations.

Responsibilities include data entry, report generation, research, and ongoing updates; organizing and maintaining records; and creating and managing spreadsheets. The position also requires developing a working knowledge of hospitality software systems, overall hotel operations, and the functions of each department.

In addition, the Student Operations Assistant supports high-traffic periods, manages incoming and outgoing mail, and helps maintain clear internal communication. The role also contributes to SHSU- and hotel-related events, inspections, evaluations, and meetings. Due to the dynamic nature of hotel operations, additional duties and shift assignments may be required as needs arise.

Other Requirements for the Position

* Must be available during summer break.

* Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
