Nature & Purpose Of PositionThe Student Wellness department provides education to students on a variety of health and wellness topics including but not limited to substance use, healthy relationships, sexual health, mental health, sleep, nutrition, and physical activity. This position will serve as the first point of contact for visitors who interact with the office. The student employee will provide direct professional assistance to the full-time Student Wellness staff.
They should be detail-oriented, complete tasks in a timely manner, be self‑motivated, and be able to maintain workplace confidentiality.
- Manage Front Desk:
Welcome and assist visitors, providing information and directing them to the appropriate person or department. - Support Full‑Time Staff:
Perform tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, making copies, filling departmental orders, making campus deliveries, creating documents, and data entry. - Answer Phones:
Respond to incoming calls, direct calls to appropriate staff, and take messages as needed. - Supply Inventory:
Track and manage office and event supplies, ensuring that inventory is maintained. - Social Media:
Help manage the department’s social media accounts. - Other Duties as Assigned.
The ideal candidate is friendly and can interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors, shows initiative, and can work independently. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8am‑5pm; the candidate will be expected to work within business hours.
Qualifications- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Work well independently and within a group setting.
- Self‑starter with strong work ethic.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Possess basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Express, and Canva.
