Duties: The Spanish Program at Sam Houston State University seeks lecturer‑pool instructors for introductory and intermediate Spanish courses. Positions are primarily online with existing course infrastructure provided, allowing instructors to focus on teaching rather than course development. Lecturer‑Pool faculty teach one to four courses per semester based on enrollment. Course requirements may include a combination of teaching on‑campus classes at the main campus in Huntsville, and online classes, depending on the needs of the academic department.
Lecturer‑Pool faculty hiring is based upon student demand, on a semester‑by‑semester basis.
Educational Requirements: Completion of 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish (beyond the Bachelor’s degree). The ideal candidate will also have prior experience and a strong interest in teaching Spanish at the university level.
Experience: Prior university‑level teaching experience preferred.
