Nature & Purpose Of Position: Provides technical support and maintains audio/video devices and peripherals. Assists with installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading classroom hardware while ensuring optimal system performance.
- With supervision, installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots level 1 audio/video hardware and software.
- Responds to service requests regarding hardware and software issues.
- Maintains an accurate record of all requests for assistance.
- Provides prompt and accurate information for requests of assistance while maintaining confidentiality.
- Routes requests that require escalation to full‑time employees and/or supervisor.
- Provides guidance and assistance to co‑workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements For The Position: Must be able to work 15–28 hours per week and ideally be available Monday–Friday 7 am–10 pm. On‑the‑job training will be required. Must possess the following essential skills:

- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems

- Comfortable working on ladders 6–10 ft.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred but not required
Education & Experience Requirements: Must be a current SHSU student enrolled in six semester hours with a minimum SHSU GPA of 2.5. Must demonstrate basic computer competencies and knowledge. Direct IT job experience, SHSU Lab Assistant experience, or customer service experience preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities is also acceptable.
