Student Employee- Student Success Initiatives -FYE Senior Peer Mentor

This role will support Peer Mentoring initiatives in First Year Experience under the guidance of the First-Year Experience Associate Director. The FYE Senior Peer Mentor will assist with training and program development for peer mentors embedded in UNIV 1101 courses. Responsible for supporting mentors as they aid incoming students with the challenges associated with transitioning into college.

• Support FYE peer mentors through developing in-class activities to promote student engagement
• Guides peer mentors under the direction of the Associate Director and role models appropriate professional behavior and academic success at all times.
• Build and maintain peer mentor schedules, including floor hours, offsite locations, and UNIV 1101 assignments
• Manage Campus Connect by inputting peer mentor appointment availabilities and verifying appointment Summary Report completion
• Create activities and training for weekly meetings with FYE peer mentors to aid team building and ongoing peer mentor professional development
• Assist the welcome desk with tasks such as greeting guests, answering the FYE phone, checking in appointments, monitoring peer mentor appointments, and rescheduling appointments when necessary
• Contribute to the creation and design of digital media for course content, announcements, and events.
• Support various FYE departmental initiatives, including, but not limited to, peer mentor retreat progress report campaigns, call campaigns, registration assistance, convocation, new student orientation, etc.
• Collaborate with the Associate and onboarding peer mentors
• Other relevant duties as assigned
