Position

Welder/Fabricator – Day

Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm (OT Friday as needed). Pay rate: $21.00 – $24.00+ (DOE) + Full Benefits Package.

Huron, SD.

Summary of Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder I is an entry‑level welding position, with all work being completed with close supervision.

  • Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
  • Learn to read blueprints.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Ability to work safely and accurately.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualities
  • Able to perform simple flat and horizontal welds and flat‑groove welds.
  • Able to fit and weld subassemblies with tack or spot weld.
  • Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
  • Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set‑up and maintenance.
  • General knowledge of equipment and operations.
  • Basic understanding of weld symbols.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
  • The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
Education and Work Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 0-1 years of welding experience preferred.
Qualifications

Preferred:
Welding.
