The Material Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials throughout the production process, directly impacting operational efficiency and product delivery timelines. This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating material orders, and maintaining accurate records to support production schedules. The Material Coordinator works closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to optimize material availability while minimizing excess stock and waste.

By effectively controlling material flow and cycle counting, this role helps prevent production delays and supports cost-effective manufacturing operations. Ultimately, the Material Coordinator ensures that all materials are available when needed, contributing to the overall success and reliability of the supply chain within the organization.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in supply chain management or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in materials management or inventory control within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory and order management.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying heavy materials safely.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

• Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with production scheduling and its impact on material requirements.
• Knowledge of purchase order processing and vendor management.
• Certification in materials management or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

• Manage and oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in alignment with production schedules.
• Coordinate and process work orders and purchase orders to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate material records and identify discrepancies.
• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to monitor material flow and resolve any supply chain issues promptly.
• Utilize ERP systems to track inventory levels, update material status, and generate reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards when handling and lifting heavy materials.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments to forecast material needs and adjust orders accordingly.
