At Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), we’re looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our growing team in Charleston, WV. You’ll work on a wide range of projects across the real estate, oil & gas, and public infrastructure sectors—delivering geotechnical solutions that shape communities and support critical development.
With 34 offices and over 1,500 employees nationwide, CEC offers the resources of a large firm with the collaborative spirit of a close-knit team. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, geologists, and project managers who are invested in your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute geotechnical subsurface investigations.
- Coordinate and monitor field drilling and sampling operations.
- Prepare boring logs and develop laboratory testing programs.
- Analyze lab data and perform geotechnical design calculations.
- Prepare technical reports and foundation recommendations.
- Provide design input for
- Building foundations
- Cut and fill slopes
- Retaining walls
- Landslide remediation
- Roadway rehabilitation
- Oversee construction materials testing services, including
- Earthwork
- Concrete
- Foundations
- Masonry
- Pavement testing
- Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- 5+ years of geotechnical experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geology (M.S. a plus).
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or Geologist-In-Training (G.I.T.) certification required.
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license (if not already licensed).
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
