Position SummaryThe Lifeguard will be responsible for the safety of all guests in and near the pool, slide, and play areas.
Primary Responsibilities- Enforcing all pool rules
- Preventing injuries and minimizing hazardous situations
- Providing patron surveillance whenever a patron is swimming
- Handling all injuries, accidents, and emergency situations as they arise (contact Senior Lifeguard for any assistance)
- Instructing various ages in swimming, water safety, and other aquatic programming
- Completing assigned cleaning duties
- Attending in‑service training as scheduled
- Providing courteous and friendly first‑in‑class guest service
- Greeting guests and providing information and way finding as needed
- Operating ticket sales booth and handling cash
- Being knowledgeable about facility programs (format, pricing, meeting dates / times)
- Being knowledgeable of and enforcing venue policies and procedures
- Maintaining confidentiality and discretion with guest and Team Member information
- Professionally resolving guest concerns and complaints and/or directing to appropriate manager
- Maintaining a clean space and performing regular pool maintenance and walk‑throughs to ensure venue cleanliness
- Supervising and enforcing rules during events
- Completing special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as assigned
- Current certification in Deep Water Lifeguard Training by the American Red Cross and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards or able to complete training and earn certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Must be at least 15 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift equipment 40 pounds waist high
- Will frequently be required to walk, swim, and sit
- Will be required to use hands and fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Will be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Will occasionally lift, pull, push and/or move heavy items
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
- May work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to outside temperatures ranging from 80–105 degrees
- Minimal duties are performed in direct sunlight and will be exposed to hot, wet, and humid conditions
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals that must be handled with extreme caution
- Facilities have intermittent noise
