Early Childhood Para educator - USD 312 Yoder Early Learning Center
This classified para educator position is assigned to Yoder Early Learning Center, located in Yoder, KS, a school operated by USD 312 Haven Public Schools.
Paraeducators are a critical team member providing assistance in instruction and other direct services to students to help ensure a positive, safe, and supportive learning community. Our success as an organization, and students’ success as they prepare for life after high school, is highly influenced by paraprofessionals.
An RCEC Para educator generally assists the assigned students under the supervision and guidance of the teacher with:
- Implementing modifications and supports defined in the student's Individual Education Program (IEP).
- Instructional support.
- Group and individual activities and projects.
- Planning and organizing learning experiences.
- Monitoring behavior, health, or physical needs of students.
- Data collection and record‑keeping.
- Personal care and sanitary needs.
- Timely and consistent communication and mobility assistance.
- Understanding and compassion for all children.
- Professional initiative, to problem‑solve and take over when needed.
- Creativity for positive input into the program.
- Adaptability for all new situations and programs.
- Maintain confidentiality with all information about children and families.
- Good judgment in unpredictable situations throughout the day.
- Courtesy and tact with all other personnel.
- Dependability with regular attendance and punctuality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation to the job site.
- Must consent to a background check.
- Up to 10 days PTO per year.

- KPERS‑eligible.
- Base rate – $13.25 / hr.
- Consideration given for relevant experience in education and related fields (health care, counseling, social work, mental health support, social services, and more).
- Consideration given for completed college hours, completed certificates and degrees, and professional licensure.
Reno County Education Cooperative (RCEC) is a progressive, team‑oriented interlocal providing special education services to students in the school districts of Buhler, Nickerson‑South Hutchinson, Haven, Fairfield, and Pretty Prairie. The RCEC office is located in Hutchinson, Kansas, which is in the south‑central part of the state. RCEC serves students from birth to 21 by providing both direct and indirect educational services.
RCEC offers a continuum of educational services and partners with other school districts for early childhood programming and alternative education. RCEC employs over 250 licensed staff and para educators.
