Job Purpose and Objectives:

Conducts and assists in investigations at the direction of the District Attorney’s office.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity before job duties are assigned that might expose the candidate to KCJIS-sensitive information.
• Shall be screened for a record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprint-based check within 30 days of initial employment of assignment.
• Knowledge of medical investigative practices and techniques.
• Prior experience in Law Enforcement or Emergency Services is preferable.
• On call work involving nights, weekends, and holidays.

Certifications / Licenses:

• Valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Trained as a death scene investigator by an accredited instructor.
• Certified for CJIS/KCJIS/NCIC.
