Digital Machine Operator

Summary/Objective

This position is responsible for operating/troubleshooting latex printers to reach and maintain maximum production efficiencies. Also responsible for producing quality printed sheets and accurately interpreting, documenting, and communicating diagnostic feedback from the machine.

• Follow the safety procedures and practices outlined on the Safety Placard for each piece of equipment.
• Will be able to set up and operate Latex & Turbo Jet Printers and sheeter.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Must have the ability to perform color matching of printed panels.
• Possess good organizational and problem solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment with little or no supervision.
• Will need to proficiently use and manipulate computer software having to do with digital color control, page imposition, production queues, and output.
• Collect and inspect random samples during print runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
• Verify the vinyl and ink meet the job traveler specs.
• Load presses with vinyl and make necessary adjustments according to size.
• Operate press and pull proofs to check for ink coverage and density, alignment, and registration.
• Must be knowledgeable of and practice printing safety procedures.
• Must be able to meet strict production deadlines while maintaining quality work.

• Have knowledge of vinyls and inks.
• Have good time management and organizational skills.
• Be able to handle wide variety of tasks while maintaining a high-performance standard in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Must be able to work with limited or no supervision.

• Atmosphere heated and cooled to production temperature.
• Cement floor with anti-fatigue mats provided for comfort.
• Clean working environment.
• Might work around moving mechanical parts.
• Will be working with chemicals so at times will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment.

• Average or better eyesight and color recognition.
• Should be able to stand for entire work period including overtime if needed.
• Occasional walking, change of position, reaching, reach across midline, handling, fingering, feeling, and grasping.
• Occasional lift 20 to 50 pounds and 10 to 25 pounds frequently.

High School diploma or equivalency.
