Reefer Technician

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a Refrigeration Technician in Hutchinson, KS! The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium duty fleet vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Refrigeration Technician will require a high level of proficiency and working knowledge working on Reefer units, PMs, and A/C.

Note you must have your 608 & 609. Required Reefer experience repairing the Refrigeration unit (Diesel Engine) on a Trailer. (Heavy-Duty Trailer Repair). Due to the nature of the repair flow, could repair some Trailers (DOT Inspections and Repairs) if Reefer Units are in working condition.

Compensation: $30-36/hr Hourly Pay, Depending on Experience - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shift: Tues-Sat, 8am-4:30pm

What the Refrigeration Technician role looks like:

* Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer

* Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to Reefer vehicles

* Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required

* Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

* Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles

* Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance

* Remove or install various parts on vehicles

* Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary

* Perform other duties as required

What our ideal candidate looks like:

* Experience with Reefer units (Thermo King and/or Carrier)

* 607 and 608 Certifications a plus

* Experience with PMs and A/C

* Must have valid Drivers License
- Class C

* Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.

* Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email

* Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Working Conditions:

* Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.

* Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.

* Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants

* Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance

* Ability to move and position heavy objects

* Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles

* Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
