The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
- Catalyzing operational excellence in planning, scheduling, and purchasing at a 3M manufacturing plant.
- Contributing to strategic planning and plant-wide initiatives as a key member of the plant management team.
- Collaborating with Division and Business Group partners to lead, optimize, and cultivate continuous improvement of Supply Chain Operations.
- Managing environmental, health and safety (EHS) and material flow improvements throughout the facility.
- Strategy and Governance:
Own the site/divisional planning strategy, policies, and planning calendar aligned to S&OP and business goals. - Translate demand plans into executable MPS and materials plans, balance service, cost, and inventory.
- Production Planning and Scheduling:
Build and maintain MPS; run finite capacity scheduling; manage constraints and bottlenecks;
Coordinate with operations to optimize labor, equipment uptime, and changeover schedules. - Materials Planning and Inventory Management:
Lead MRP runs and exception management; set and maintain safety stocks, reorder points, and lot sizes. - Drive inventory health turns, days of supply, excess & obsolete (E&O), and slow-moving reduction.
- Supplier and Inbound Coordination:
Partner with procurement and suppliers on lead-time, MOQ, and OTIF performance; elevate shortages; implement VMI/Kanban where applicable; manage expedites and risk mitigation. - Act as the site owner/liaison for IT.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Ten (10) years of manufacturing and/or supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Three (3) years supervisory/managerial experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Possess expertise equivalent to that which would be obtained in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain/Logistics or Engineering.
- Expertise equivalent to level needed to obtain professional certifications in supply chain, logistics, transportation, inventory management or related field.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar expertise, certification and or training.
- Experience with data management systems (for example, SAP).

CompensationApplicable to US Applicants Only:
The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
