We are recruiting a full‑time Field Service Technician located in Hutchinson, MN, who will maintain and repair the Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) used by first responders. Your work will help keep firefighters, law enforcement, and EMTs safe in hazardous environments.

We are seeking a Field Service Technician (Air Products – SCBA) who will inspect, maintain, repair, and test SCBA equipment used in hazardous environments. You will ensure that SCBA units are ready for use during emergencies, conduct preventative maintenance at fire departments, and serve the state of Minnesota.
Roles and Responsibilities- Equipment Inspection:
Perform routine inspections and functional checks of 3M/Scott SCBA and related equipment to verify readiness and compliance with safety regulations. - Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct troubleshooting and repairs, replacing worn or damaged components to ensure proper functionality. - Testing:
Perform pressure, airflow, and leak tests to verify units meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all inspection, maintenance, and repair activities. - Calibration:
Calibrate and adjust SCBA equipment for accurate readings. - Training:
Train end‑users on proper use, care, and maintenance of SCBA equipment. - Inventory Management:
Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring adequate stock for repairs. - Regulatory Compliance:
Stay current with safety regulations and ensure equipment meets Scott/3M standards. - Customer Service:
Engage with customers and end‑users, addressing concerns and assisting with equipment‑related issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience servicing SCBA equipment highly desirable.
- Additional technical training or certification for SCBA maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA, safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines for SCBA equipment.
- Sound computer skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Good communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Experience in HVAC, small engine repair, firefighting equipment, hydraulics, or cabling.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or electrician.
