Crew Leader - Hutto, TX

Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Crew Leader to perform and lead maintenance operations in the Austin, Texas area. This position, based in Hutto, TX
, requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years prior road maintenance experience
• Basic roadway knowledge
• Experience managing multiple crews
• Bilingual a plus

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of road maintenance experience
• Knowledge of TXDOT specifications for full depth concrete, guardrail & asphalt repair

Qualifications:

• Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
• MOT Certifications preferred
• Demonstrated effective leadership abilities
• Effective scheduling of multiple crews with support setting up travel arrangements
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
• Knowledge of mechanics and operation of hand/power tools and equipment

Schedule: Full time;
Day shift Monday - Friday. 7:30am - 4:00pm with some night and weekend work if needed.

Night Shift Sunday
-Thursday 7:30pm- 4:00am with some day and weekend work if needed.

Must be flexible and able to work during snow and ice weather events.
