Base pay range$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities- Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy.
- Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
- Champion On‑Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes; validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
- Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that impact the accuracy of front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
- Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques; file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including required system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring the floor and stock room prepare for the business day.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- When serving as the leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including greetings, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits.
- Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.
- Scan in deliveries and manage One Box receiving; contact vendor for undelivered scheduled receipts and open tickets to correct inaccuracies.
- Under pharmacist supervision, verify pharmacy shipments posted for products physically received.
- Complete On‑Shelf Availability end‑to‑end process and manage disposals, call‑ins, and vendor returns before expiration.
- Complete pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, vendor returns, and inter‑store transfers as applicable.
- Execute pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, deletions, and regulatory tasks.
- Support front end and pharmacy ordering; order expense items and monitor manual orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for all departments and pharmacy.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.
- Assist with preparation for physical inventory and support inventory day activities.
- Keep counters and shelves clean and merchandised.
- Assist and coach team on package delivery activities, scanning, and pickup program support.
- When leading on duty, register all sales in the POS, manage errors, voids, refunds, and cash drops.
- Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships.
- Complete additional assigned activities.
- Attend company‑based trainings for continuous development and complete all e‑learning modules.
- Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required.
- Serve as liaison between management and team members, coaching and developing inventory system capabilities.
- When leading on duty, communicate tasks and report disciplinary and customer issues to management.
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
