The organization is seeking Per Diem Pharmacists to join our teams at our retail pharmacies located in Plymouth and Hyannis. Day, evening and weekend shifts available.
Locations:
- Harbor Community Health Center-Plymouth, 10 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA
- Harbor Community Health Center-Hyannis, 735 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA
The Pharmacist is responsible for the overall daily operation of the pharmacy department including but not limited to operational and clinical services such as purchasing, preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical oversight and interaction with medical staff; and appropriate/timely submission/reconciliation of drug claims.
Responsibilities- Responsible for all activities related to dispensing medications.
- Responsible for the overall safety and security of the pharmacy including keys, alarm codes, etc.
- Directly supervises technicians and residents on duty, ensuring tasks are completed accurately during shift.
- Collaborates with HHSI administration, providers, pharmacy and nursing staff to provide quality care.
- Ensures appropriate record keeping for each prescription including proper perpetual documentation of all controlled substances (Schedules II-V).
- Responsible for 340B program compliance when filling and checking medications.
- Ensures adherence to standardized professional policies and procedures.
- Provides timely and accurate delivery of services to clients.
- Works with pharmacy staff to enhance clinical effectiveness and counseling skills.
- Ensures adherence to State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Participates in the implementation and documentation of drug recalls per policy, including disposition documentation.
- Communicates incidents to the Pharmacist in Charge or Director of Pharmacy as applicable.
- Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) from ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy. - Current, valid, unrestricted Massachusetts pharmacy license; current BLS required.
- One year of pharmacy or related experience, preferably in outpatient clinic or retail pharmacy.
- Ability to handle multiple requests, prioritize appropriately, detail oriented.
- Excellent communication skills with patients and collaboration with health center staff and providers.
- Computer literate with intermediate skills in Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
- Bilingual in English/Vietnamese/Spanish/Portuguese a plus.
Hours include day shifts, some evenings until 8:00 PM, and Saturdays 8:00 AM to Noon. Per Diem (as needed).
