Employment Type: Part-Time, 8-10 hours per week
Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Physician - Medical Review Officer (MRO) for a part-time role. In this position, you will conduct in-person medical evaluations and consultations, performing return-to-duty and fitness-for-duty assessments as needed. Your responsibilities will include evaluating medical records, making referrals as necessary, and ensuring that employees meet safety and fitness standards before returning to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct return-to-duty medical evaluations with comprehensive medical record reviews, referring employees as appropriate following prolonged absences, major illnesses, or surgeries.
- Perform fitness-for-duty assessments at the request of supervisors when an employee's ability to perform essential job functions is in question or when safety risks are suspected.
- Collaborate with HR and supervisory staff to provide clear, medically sound evaluations and recommendations.
Certifications and Licensure Requirements
- Current Medical License to practice in Maryland (preferred additional licensure in Washington, DC, and Virginia).
- Medical Doctor (MD/DO) certification with DOT Certification for Drug & Alcohol Testing.
- Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification.
