The Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department is the fifteenth busiest fire department in the United States and the largest in the State of Maryland. Prince George’s County is a large (nearly 500 square mile) jurisdiction composed of communities that range from urban and suburban to rural and agricultural. The Fire/EMS Department answers over one hundred forty thousand calls for service annually, protecting close to a million residents and visitors.
Our emergency response workforce includes over 1000 sworn/volunteer personnel operating from 48 community stations and support facilities.
We have immediate openings for Firefighter/EMTs, EMTs, Paramedics and Administrative, Support & Auxiliary volunteers — no training or experience is needed!

- Be at least 16 years of age
- No past training or experience required
- Be able to pass a criminal background check (criminal & traffic)
- Be able to pass a full physical (not required for Admin/Support)
- Complete Volunteer Recruit School training online
