Pipelayer

Overview

Join to apply for the Pipelayer role at Magnolia Companies in Hyattsville, MD. The position involves installing and repairing water, storm water, and sewer pipe below ground for main lines and service laterals. Magnolia provides flagging/traffic control and confined space training. Work is outdoors and performed in all weather conditions across the DC Metropolitan area.

• Grade or level trench bases using tampering machines and hand tools
• Operate laser beam equipment
• Hand excavation and back filling for trenching and test pitting as required
• Measure, cut and connect various types and sizes of pipes
• Install lagging for trench support
• Cribbing, rigging, shoring, jacking and unloading of structures
• Install/erect fencing, guard rails, and asphalt spreader
• Install concrete thrust blocks; operate vibrators
• Work in a safe and responsible manner with respect for yourself and others
• General clean up

• Minimum 2 years of pipe laying experience
• Extensive knowledge of tools such as tampers, rammers, jackhammers, chain saws and other power tools
• Must possess physical ability to lift varying materials/pipe
• Any certifications/training related to OSHA standards is a plus
• Attention to detail
• Must have own transportation to each job location daily
