The Associate Accountant will support the company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with statutory requirements. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support the financial health of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and assist with account reconciliations.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
Reconcile supplier and customer accounts regularly.
Assist in resolving discrepancies related to invoices and payments.
Compliance & Taxation:
Assist in GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities.
Support the preparation and filing of tax returns and regulatory reports.
Maintain records required for audits and compliance reviews.
Coordinate with auditors and consultants as required.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management summaries.
Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies for corrective action.
Maintain accurate records to support business decision-making.
Inventory & Cost Management:
Assist in inventory accounting and stock reconciliations.
Monitor inventory-related transactions and ensure accurate recording.
Support cost tracking for coffee roasting, retail, and café operations.
Coordinate with operations teams to verify stock movements and consumption.
Administrative & Operational Support:
Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
Support office administration-related financial activities.
Assist in vendor onboarding and payment processing.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's/ Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B. Com preferred).
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance requirements.
Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Accounting Software.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Experience:
3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance roles.
Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Experience in handling accounting processes through ERP platforms will be an added advantage.
Experience in retail, hospitality, food & beverage, manufacturing, or coffee industry environments will be an added advantage.
