Key Responsibilities
Provide round-the-clock comprehensive care to critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, ensuring evidence-based clinical decision-making and patient safety.
Demonstrate expertise in advanced hemodynamic monitoring , including interpretation and optimization of invasive and non-invasive monitoring modalities.
Perform bedside bronchoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic indications in critically ill patients.
Execute ultrasound-guided ICU procedures , including vascular access and diagnostic point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS).
Independently perform invasive line insertions , including arterial lines, central venous catheters, dialysis catheters, and other critical access procedures.
Lead the acute management of all critically ill and ICU patients , including ventilatory, hemodynamic, renal, and metabolic support.
Perform percutaneous tracheostomies and manage tracheostomy care in ICU patients.
Manage and monitor extracorporeal support devices , including CRRT, ECMO (where applicable), IABP, and other advanced life-support systems.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care with primary consultants, nursing teams, respiratory therapists, and allied health professionals.
Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards as per NABH guidelines.
Participate in ICU audits, clinical governance activities, training of residents, fellows, and nursing staff.
Communicate effectively with patients’ families regarding prognosis, treatment plans, and end-of-life care when applicable.
Qualifications:
MBBS with MD and
Super-Specialization in Critical Care – after MD/DNB :
DM Critical Care Medicine (3 years) OR DrNB Critical Care Medicine
Experience : 5 years of post-qualification experience in critical care medicine,
Skills :
Strong clinical knowledge, decision-making abilities, and experience with ICU management and critical care procedures.
Certification :
Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine or any additional certification would be an advantage.
Personal Traits :
Excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a patient-centric approach.
